Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using EigoKado (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using EigoKado, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
EigoKado is a free, local-first flashcard application that helps users learn and review vocabulary using spaced repetition. The Service includes:
• A web application accessible at app.eigokado.com • Five study modes (flashcard, multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and typing) • Local data storage on your device • A Progressive Web App (PWA) for home screen installation
3. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
• All content you create within the application (flashcards, decks, etc.) • Maintaining backups of your local data if desired • Ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable laws • Not attempting to interfere with or disrupt the Service
4. Intellectual Property
The EigoKado brand, logo, and application code are owned by us. Your flashcard content belongs to you. We claim no ownership of any content you create within the application.
5. Data and Privacy
Your flashcards and study data are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.
6. Service Availability
We strive to keep EigoKado available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. Since the app works offline, you can continue using it even when our servers are unavailable.
7. Limitation of Liability
EigoKado is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from browser data clearing, device failure, or any other cause. We recommend regularly backing up important flashcard data.
8. Future Paid Services
We plan to offer a paid "Plus" plan with additional features such as cross-device sync and deck sharing. The free core features described in these Terms will remain free. Separate terms may apply to paid services when they become available.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
